On Tuesday I went for a run for the first time since February 2013. I am unfit and need to rectify that, so this first run was the beginning of a longer journey.
The pleasing thing is that I ran a quicker time than my last run. I was very surprised when I checked the stats on Runmaster. Not fast, by any means (I shan’t reveal how slow I went), but still quicker than 2 years ago. I think the main reason for this is not because I am in any way intrinsically fitter. No, it’s more to do with the fact that I lost a stone and three quarters in weight since 2013. Less extra fat to carry around made the run easier.
So… a good start, but a long road ahead.
