On Monday 11 May, 2015, my partner and I went to watch 90s sensations and 2 time Brit Award winners S Club 7. I’m not a huge fan of S Club although I have to admit that I knew most of the songs. Retrospectively, I’ve discovered that I like a lot of the music that S Club put out in their heyday. Don’t get me wrong, they aren’t suddenly my fave band ever, but they are pleasant enough. Personally, I would categorise them as a good, fun, easy-listening radio band.
But there is one S Club 7 song I love – Don’t Stop Movin’. Don’t Stop Movin’, is a brilliant thumping dance track which was awarded the Brit for Best Single back in the day. Even The Beautiful South produced a cover version on their album Golddiggas, Headnodders and Pholk Songs.
At the BIC, Don’t Stop Movin’ was the final track of the obligatory encore, and was a rousing way to end the gig. The place was literally shaking.
I went away that night with a little smile on my face.
